White Night, concerts, theater, and much more for the first weekend of May in Granada
May arrives and with it the traditional Crosses, one of the most deeply traditional festivals in Granada and one of the most beloved by the people of Granada. This Friday, the White Night is celebrated, with more than 200 cultural activities that will take place in different corners of the city and completely free of charge.
Two critical events for the first weekend of May, completed with theater, concerts, shows, and much more, for four days. Here we propose 12 plans that you cannot miss this weekend in Granada.
May 1 Crosses
Next Friday, May 3, Granada will experience one of its most representative festivals: the Day of the Cross. A spring holiday that falls this year on Friday, so a massive attendance of people is expected on the city's streets. On this occasion, 20 crosses with a bar will be installed to enliven the party, although another 42 crosses will be visited.

The White Night
For yet another year, Granada's city dresses in culture in all its corners with the VI Edition of the White Night of Granada. This year it is dedicated to the Albaicín neighborhood, under the motto Albaicín Eterno, with which it is intended to honor the Granada neighborhood on the 25th anniversary of its Declaration as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Throughout the night, around 280 activities will be held in different corners of the city, including concerts, exhibitions, theater, dance, sports activities, markets, parades, or guided tours distributed in more than 120 spaces.

Titellít and Befunkbop Project in Acústicos del Rey Chico
This week continues the IX edition of 'Los acoustics del Rey Chico,' organized by the Ministry of Culture and Historical Heritage. These are practical concerts of the Lighting and Sound courses of the Granada headquarters of the Public School of Cultural Training.
On this occasion, Proyecto Titellít recovers popular music with touches of jazz on Thursday, May 2. On Saturday, May 4, Befunkbop will show the public the best of funk-jazz made in Granada. Both performances will occur at the Rey Chico Municipal Youth Art Center, starting at 8:00 pm, with free admission until full capacity is reached.

Sound District with David Heredia 'El Marqués'
The second edition of Distrito Sonoro continues in different corners of Granada, one of Momentos Alhambra's initiatives. These are seven first-rate concerts in different locations in Granada, which will fill the streets with chords and rhythms for free between April 12 and June 14. .
On this occasion, the place will be the Paseo de Los Tristes and the artist David Heredia 'El Marqués,' a composer and multi-instrumentalist born in Granada, in continuous musical research, who has participated in several experimental flamenco projects during his career and has collaborated with a large number of international and national jazz and flamenco musicians.

The sounds of the word
The V cycle of The Sounds of the Word, which is held from March to June, is presented as a dialogue between the different visual, sound, literary, and performing arts, with an aesthetic and communicative purpose that aims to reach the public by the interest of the chosen themes and for the beauty of their expression.
On this occasion, on Saturday, May 4, the session 'Plants and flowers of the Alhambra' will be held in the Nasrid enclosure, with illustrator Pilar Campos, Gloria Oya on flute song, and Raquel Sánchez on piano. It will be in a single one-hour pass at 12:30 pm, with free admission until full capacity is reached.

Ladilla Rusa en Planta Baja
Los catalanes Ladilla Rusa, un dúo inigualable que se ha popularizado en los últimos meses gracias a éxitos como Macaulay Culkin, Princesas o Bebo (de bar en peor); llegan a Granada con 'La amenaza ladilla'.

A room of my own, Isabel la Católica Theater
The Isabella Católica Theater hosts this weekend the play 'A room of my own,' inspired by the essay book published by Virginia Woolf in 1929. Based on the author's lectures on women and literature, this text has become an important story about feminism. Clara Sanchís will give voice to the text, directed by María Ruiz, in this theatrical adaptation that will take place on Saturday, May 4, at 7:30 pm.

Los Sabineros on the Ground Floor
The Ground Floor Room is hosting a Los Sabineros concert this Friday, May 3. A band emerged when Mario Ojeda, an Argentine singer-songwriter, musician, and producer who arrived in Granada more than twelve years ago, crosses paths with Flaco Rodríguez, a singer, entertainer, and lover of Joaquín Sabina's music.
This Friday, starting at 10:00 pm, the Planta will host this fun, personal and badass Spanish tribute to Joaquín Sabina and other artists.

Luar Na Lubre
The Galician Celtic music group, Luar Na Lubre, will offer a concert at the Isabel la Católica Theater in Granada this Thursday, May 2, from 9:00 pm. Led by Bieito Romero, they have developed their music full of cultural and historical references over more than 30 years, taking their music to various countries and offering hundreds of concerts throughout the world.

61st International Piano Competition Jaén Prize
The Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada will host this Saturday, May 4, at 8:30 pm. Under Paul Mann's direction, a piano and solo piano winner of the 61st International Piano Competition Premio 'Jaén'.
